The Police in Akwa Ibom have arrested a Pastor identified as Mrs Mmayen Etim Odiuotip and five other persons for alleged Child theft and trafficking, according to a report from The Nation reporter, Bassey Anthony.
Wonder why some persons who claim to be teachers of the Goodnews will indulge in criminal activities when they are supposed to be involved in humanitarian services. To me, they ain’t teachers of the word, they just adopted the name ‘Pastor’ to mislead people and rob them of their belongings.
The Police Relation Officer CSP N-Nudam Fredrick revealed that having received information about the illegal activity of Mrs Mmayen in June, they had to track the suspect to it hole. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
The other four suspects that were involved includes Esther Effanga Esan, Rose Bassey Asuquo, Ubong Stephen Akpan, Daniel William and Edo Peter were all apprehended.
In a statement released this morning Fredrick said; Rose Bassey Asuquo Ekpeyong is the gang leader sold a stolen baby back in 2018 to a woman Identified as pastor Mmayen Etim Udiuotop of Land Of Testimony Ministry Marina Road, Oron.
The pastor confessed to the Crime saying she bought the baby for her sister named Esther Effanga Esan.
The baby in question was reduced following an information leading to the crime.The police swung into action and apprehended the six women. The Police Spokesman told newsmen.
He further urged other members of the Public to desist from child trafficking and give useful information to the security agency that will help in apprehension of other perpetrators of Child theft/trafficking in the state.
