The Niger state police command have arrested a senior civil servant for illegally placing his brother on federal government payroll for 11 years.

Mohammed Ndanusa was arrested in Minna, Niger, after being found to have smuggled his brother’s name in the federal civil service payroll, since 2009.

The culprit, a civil servant with the Ministry of Health was reportedly collecting his brother’s salary for about 11 years until the bubble burst on Tuesday, August 1, 2020.

He even made arrangements to successfully promote the sibling several times, from Grade Level 10 to Grade level 14.

Tanimu, brother to Mohammed Ndanusa, was all the while operating as a motorcyclist in Minna and unqualified to be on the level his brother crookedly arranged in his name.

The 11 year-fraud was busted when he asked the “Okada-rider”brother, Tanimu to appear for screening in line with government’s regulations.

Niger State government is recently embarked on a physical verification of all civil servants.

According to P.M. News, when Tanimu Ndanusa appeared before the panel, he did not come with any certificate, and he could not even speak, like a senior civil servant on Level 14.
